Good
These are great, the switch looks custom on the Jeep Wrangler (JK) the only thing that i would ask is for an easier reach of the locking nuts (for directing the lights), they are very close to the bracket and you need a thin wrench or socket driver for a tight fit or you will be scratch the bracket.A dent system for directing the lights would be nice on these to avoid the problem that I described.Ligths are bright and look awosome in the jeep (windshield brackets). Tese long range/ pencil type will give you a slim and long light ray which does not make any glare from the hood like the driving type.Another thing, since these are mostly used in jeeps they should add some special instructions for them along with the regular ones, you will figure how and where to connect everything but have to give a good think, also dont forget to buy some corrugated tubing (hardware store)to protect the cables from the ligths and into the hood, other way you will have two...
OMG These things are powerfull!
* 260 Watts of blinding fury! I was going to get the flood beams but I'm glad I got these instead. The beam pattern is tight but at 100 yard in front of the Trailblazer they light up the entire road. I have them wired to come on with my highbeams so there is no switch or wire coming into the car. It took me all of 20 min to wire them up.
Great
Purchased in March 2011 for a 2004 Ford Ranger, 4x4, with a Westin brush guard. Very easy to install on the brush guard. Had a friend wire these up in about an hour. A little too much wire in some areas, a little more needed in others, but not a big problem. Definitely would purchase some plastic conduit to contain the wires and protect them, and to make the installation look professional. Easy to mount, and aim vcertically and horizontally. Price beat any other brick and mortar store and any on web site that I could research. Do your homework; some are slim lights and some are not. Some are for long range and some are for lighting up the side of the road. Some for 4x4 ing and off roading and some not. Be careful in reading the description for use and buy for the reason that you need them. Take your time and you will not be disappointed. Satisfied.

Two Feet Long 14-Gauge Wire
In all four previous reviews and in the product description there is no mention on how long these cables are! In the picture they look pretty long, and you would think length would be a primary concern. So, from the back of the product packaging, once I received the product, here you are: 2 Feet long, 14-gauge wire.
Usefull accessory
I bought this to use with a Vivair air compressor that draws about 15A. It will work off some accessory sockets, my bimmer works for instance, but not for very long without the engine running. In my truck, the amp draw is high for the accessory socket and it is only active with the engine running. This is a bit of a pain when you want to check and air up your tires. So I clip this to the battery terminals and I am good to go. The clips are not huge but work fine for me and the construction overall is fine. It is nothing very fancy but it is well worth the modest price IMHO.
A good alternative to blowing up your cigarette lighter's wiring
Works as advertised. The little clamps should be much bigger - the same size as what you have on light duty jumper cables. This way they would connect securely. Also, the short wire supplied should be a tad thicker. Main concern and 4 stars is b/c of the clamps being small and not very secure on battery terminals.

Excellent lighting, fair quality construction, great value for money.
I installed these lights on a Saab 900SE next to a set of KC Pencil Beam driving lights. While they are not the quality of the KC lights, they are nevertheless reasonable quality and VERY good value for the money.Install was typical - no easier or harder than installing any other brand.Light output with 55 watt bulbs is EXCELLENT with a TIGHT, LONG RANGE BEAM. Not quite as focused as the KCs - but there isn't much in it -- and the light output seems as bright as the KCs with 100 watt bulbs.Because the housing is plastic I have not run the Hella's with 100 watt or 130 watt bulbs, I may give it a try during the winter. For me the wiring harness was a little light -- especially since I commonly use 100 watts bulbs, but so long as you use a relay to switch the lights and keep the runs short it will be more than adequate - but I'm an "overkill" type when it comes to wiring so I replaced the harnesses with #12 Tefzel (aircraft) wire for each...
great lights great price!
I bought these to replace the factory fog lamps on my wifes 2004 Subaru Forester, which were trashed from 130K of hard use. Had to do some "creative engineering" to get them to fit into the holes in the front bumper but they came out great! The wiring instructions are a little bit hard to follow and mt lights didn't include them in the package (downloaded the PDF [...]) Once I puzzled them out the wiring harness is well thought out and made installing the light pretty bomb-proof. I highly recommend these for daily, on-road use.
HELLA 500 FF Driving Lights - Very Nice
Ok, the 500FF driving lights are a good design in how it projects the light in front of the vehicle. I have been driving with Hellas in both my cars and 4x4s since 1985. They make damn good driving lights both on and off-road. I say that the 500s in stock form do a nice job in the city. However, if you do any off-roading and these are the only auxilary lights you have then I would recommend upgrading the bulbs to a 100W or 130W. Of course the modification will make them unusable in city driving.Personally I have adopted these as fog lights with crystal ion fog bulbs from PIAA. The PIAA bulbs and Hella 500s are a perfect match and work great in snow and dense fog. I don't like the conventional fog lights because the light pattern spreads too much light above the hood which is not needed.I have a FJ Cruiser with a grill guard where these puppies are mounted on the lower crossmember close to the ground. This is the best place for them. However, the pair of 500s...

Absolutely 100% satisfied.
Ordered these to go on the brush guard of my 2001 Isuzu Rodeo. The included wiring was very high quality and was in sort of a black wrap to protect it from the elements. There was plenty of wire to put the lights on the front of my vehicle, you would need more if you were putting them on the roof. They look great and I'm very happy with the way they installed. As for their performance, WOW! With these on, it's hard to tell that the stock lights on my car are even on at all! The beam is perfect and throws very far. KC has made a lifelong customer out of me.Edit: After a few days of having these on, the tabs of one of the smiley face light covers broke. I contacted KC support and they sent a replacement immediately, free of charge. Absolutely great customer support.
Helps avoid deer collisions
Very good price. Very good lights. Easy install, promt delivery. ALOT brighter than high beams. No need to spend more money on different brands, go with the original. You won't be dissapointed.

How do i install off-road lights on my 1997 F-150?

Jan 23, 2007 by ZANE | Posted in Ford

I bought 2 off-road lamps for my f-150. i can't figure out a good way to attach them. any ideas?

either a roll bar, a bumper bar that sticks out in front of the truck, a grill guard if you have one, on the bumper itself if it doesnt look too bad, or do like i did and mount them behind the grill on the underside of the radiator support. this might

I need detailed instructions on how to install lights on the roof of my jeep.?

Mar 17, 2007 by Jake | Posted in Jeep

I purchased 4 6" off-road lights for my jeep. I want to mount them on my front roof bar. I have no problems running the wires and that stuff. I just dont know the best way to get the wires from the outside of my jeep to the inside. I dont want it

I put lights on the roof of my jeep cherokee and i used a small rubber gromit that I got at a hardware store for about a quarter. I did that to protect the metal of my roof from rust and to protect the wires from getting cut and shorting out. After I

Recall Roundup: Cadillacs, Trucks and Off-Road Motorcycles

02.07.11
If the shift cable is in the wrong position, the shift lever may not accurately display the position of the transmission’s gears. The car maker said the trucks may have been built with an automatic transmission adjustment clip that may not retain the shift cable in the proper position. The recall stems from a problem with some of the vehicles’ shift-lever mechanisms that can indicate the transmission is in “park” when it isn’t. As a result, the driver may not be able to restart the truck, and it could roll away because it its transmission isn’t locked in the “park” position.

CS2: broken blue

Source: diamond geezer

That's because bus stops are sometimes full of buses, and riding a bike through a bus isn't recommended. As soon as CS2 reaches a bus stop it stops, pauses, then picks up again on the opposite side as if nothing had happened. They iron a big rectangular stencil onto the road alongside the bus stop as a warning to drivers that there might be cyclists overtaking ahead. At most road junctions, rather impressively, the blue line's been painted straight across to show car drivers who's now boss. But reach a bus stop, or a parking space, or a pedestrian crossing, and you're briefly on your own. Who'd have guessed that the true enemy of the Superhighway cyclist isn't the car, it's the bus. These big blue 'CS2's indicate the existence of a Cycle Superfuzzyway - a stretch of road where quite frankly there could...
