it is what you pay fordont expect this bumper to bolt right up to your jeep. first off idk if it was a shipping error but my bumper did not coe with any hardware to mount it, also on the swing away tire arrier part i was missing half the hardware that was suppposed to come with it. on top of all that it comes with no instructions, not that its brain surgery to put on but still would be nice to fall back on. when i was mounting on my '06 wrangler i noticed the welded nuts on the bumper are hallf an inch to close together so in order for me to install it im sure others will find easier ways, but i dropped the fuel tank and drilled new holes in the frame. the swing away bumper part on mine wasnt even lined up rightnor was the latch part on the bumper where the handle grabs in the right spot. its about 1/8 an inch off so the latch doesent seat properly causing somewhat a concern going down the road. long story short, unless u wanna spend about 6 hours moddifying things to to save a hundred dollars then dont...
Great bumper
I believe the person who reviewed before me just got bad luck. My bumper bolted right up and only took about 15 min to install. It works great. I felt it was a great deal and great buy. Mine came with all the hardwear. The only thing missing were the instructions but it was pretty easy to figure out. Will be buying another one for my other jeep as soon as finances allow it!

Good quality, but....I got the front and rear bumpers. Overall good craftsmanship, and they give my 97 Sahara a good look. I beefed up the receiver so I could use it to tow. (accessory rated only) The only problem that I have is when I turn a corner, the tire gate comes unlatched and swings open. I have to hold the latch lever down with a small bungee. Don't get me wrong, I like Smittybilt. I'm ordering the SRC side armor tomorrow! :o)

Jeep tire carrier and bumperGood product, just needs a little more work. Two of us needed to install no problem-instructions need some help could'nt figure out how to put back up light on. This tire carrier won't work with stock rims (I have 18 inch stock rims with 35in tires) had to purchase an after market adapter for it to work- locking mechanism does'nt hold I keep a bungee cord wrapped around the bumper to hold in place. I have taken it off road and ran it pretty good two times and it has far surpassed my expectations and would buy again. The advertisement shows two two hooks and mine arrived with none?

The photo is miss leading, the bumper doesnt come with the D-rings.The instal of the bumper itself was very easy. Removed old bumper and new bumper bolted right in. The tire carrier on the other hand gave me a few issues but nothing that wasnt easily resolved. The problem comes when installing the break light. First off the break light needs to be rewired, so be prepaired. Second, if you plan on using the third break light with a stock rim and tire it will not fit. Third, with stock rim and tire you will need to put some spacers on the tire carrier where you bolt the tire on because the tre itself gets pushed into the metal and ts not good for the tire.If your handy enough these are easy problems to fix. The bumper looks great, ive gotten many compliments on it(and on my custom handy work with the wiring and break light).
live and learn
This is not as good a fit as I expected. The 2 grease zerts both broke in half while I was removing the grease gun. I had to tap a different thread and replace the zert with one I had available. The latch obstructs the License plate and I received no response from the Smittybilt Company as to a solution. We received no bolts to relocate the Dole light, or electric wire for power to it. This renders the light useless. I have not received any response to from the Smittybilt Company on these items. Their customer service sucks. It was cheaper than the competition, but you get what you pay for. I will not order any more products Smittybilt again.

The other guy is totally right(Destroyer?) I see people do this all the time at our garage and i wonder why oh why do they do it that way. Use the good springs,( Coil over) good brand and sell the spacers to someone with a crappy Jeep not a 2010. Look

I'll be reading here allot more than I'll be posting but I just wanted to say hello and share a bit about my XJ. It's a '99 5 speed sport model that I've put a bit of time in to building it in to a capable expo style ride for my wife and myself. The rear seats have been removed and the rear passenger space now holds a 43qt. Moving back, next is a sturdy security divider grid to keep the driver and navigator safe from cargo moving forward. fresh water system with a surflo pump and filters to use water from most any source. on the driver's side is the second AGM battery and other secondary electrical components including a folding 62 watt solar panel. Other mods include On the passenger side is a 10 gal....
