Customer Reviews

Fits perfectly - 2011 Grand Cherokee Overland
Provides a perfectly snug fit all around the perimeter of the windshield. The cutout for the rear view mirror fits just fine, even with additional electronic housing. The cloth trim around the sunshade helps avoid the occasional little scrape. The description does state "No logos or graphics" and there is a relatively small HeatShield logo that (after getting the product) I now can discern in the product photo. Personally, I don't mind because it is small and looks professional.I was hesitant to spend the extra money, but I am glad I did. It's a perfect fit and stores well.
Pretty good
Bought for my new 2011 Grand Cherokee Limited because Mopar does not have one available yet. Fits the shape (size) of windshield perfectly although it is a little tight around the mirror area, even though there is a cut-out in the HeatShield it does not seem to be enough. I have rainsense wipers, and the auto headlights/highbeams. All the sensors for these systems are contained in the housing behind the rearview mirror. It seems that this may have been designed for the base model Laredo that does not have these features.
Great fit, really works
After reading the reviews I decided to buy it for my new Grand Cherokee Overland Summit 2011. Its basically all NAPA leather on the inside, even the dash. I was very worried about protecting the leather from the UV sun rays and heat. This summer has been a scorcher so far. I do not have covered parking at work so my Jeep was taking a beating. Not to mention it was like an oven when I would go inside. Well I am not worried anymore since I bought this product. The dash and front seats are perfectly protected against UV rays. Its like a freaking blanket across the windshield. Yes its snug fit around rear view mirror but that's not a big deal. I rather have a snug fit then a gaping hole. Also rolling it back up does take some getting used to but the difference in how the leather is protected before and after is well worth it. WE have had some incredibly hot, humid, blustering summer days around here and in the shade I'd say it's 10-20 degrees cooler than ambient temperature. In fun sun...

If I take my heat shield off of my grand cherokee's catalytic converter will that make a difference?

Jun 05, 2008 by jeepwheelin98 | Posted in Jeep

It's making a rattling noise and I didn't know if the heat effected the under carriage of my jeep.

Yes, it might make a difference. It might cause the carpeting above the cat converter on the passenger side to melt, or worse ignite. Don't do it.

What can i put in-between my exhaust pipe and heat shield so it wont rattle?

Apr 01, 2009 by Marty S | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs

I recently put a flowmaster muffler on my jeep grand cherokee and when i welded it on the pipe got moved over a little and now the exhaust pipe rattles with the heat shield in a small area. What can i put to act as a buffer in-between my heat shield and

For the heat shield to be effective there must be an air gap between the heat shield and the muffler. You must move one or the other so that they do not ever touch each other.

LONG-TERM FLEET: Billy Bob has a tantrum

01.01.70
Well, I suspect that Billy Bob, our long-term Jeep Grand Cherokee, took his cue from the canine world when he sat in my driveway and refused to budge. A flat battery in a Grand Cherokee means you cannot get the car into neutral for towing, so the BMW X1 was brought in to give him a jump start. The problem was, though, that Billy Bob wanted to be stubborn. No sooner was he up and running that I removed the jumper cables and with a brief laugh, Billy Bob went quiet and sat on his haunches again. I phoned the Chrysler SA helpline, which was extremely helpful and within the promised time span a chap rocked up from Autohaus Towing with a flatbed.

Please don't kill me.   Not exactly sure what he does but I'm pretty sure he's in the secret service or CIA or something, I wasn't asking.   One, Matthews dad did the van inspect before we left, and two, I wasn't riding in Marky Mark.   Scotty and I are waiting in the driveway like normal, and out of nowhere Eph shows up, with the most beautiful van I've ever seen in my entire life.   Classic 1992 conversion van with all the trimmings. This is gonna be awesome.   I did feel more comfortable than normal based off 2 factors.   Captains chairs that could accommodate Ganks big ass, a huge back seat, a small 8 in black and white TV, wood paneling throughout, this was luxury, this was the Mark III....
