Yes, it might make a difference. It might cause the carpeting above the cat converter on the passenger side to melt, or worse ignite. Don't do it.

I recently put a flowmaster muffler on my jeep grand cherokee and when i welded it on the pipe got moved over a little and now the exhaust pipe rattles with the heat shield in a small area. What can i put to act as a buffer in-between my heat shield and
For the heat shield to be effective there must be an air gap between the heat shield and the muffler. You must move one or the other so that they do not ever touch each other.

Please don't kill me. Not exactly sure what he does but I'm pretty sure he's in the secret service or CIA or something, I wasn't asking. One, Matthews dad did the van inspect before we left, and two, I wasn't riding in Marky Mark.
