A Solid Successor to the Kindle Keyboard
For my review, I'm going to focus it on the differences between the previous (which I'll refer to as the K3), and the Kindle Touch (KT)USE - As far as the reading experience, I really like the touch compared to the physical buttons on the previous generation. At first I was worried that I would constantly be turning the page from accidentally touching the screen, but this didn't become much of an issue. The screen is broken up into mapped sections, so if you touch the far left side that covers about 1" of the left of the screen, it goes to the previous page. If you touch anywhere on the other 80% of the screen beside that, it goes forward. Touch the top 1" margin, and it will bring up the menu. There is also a physical button on...
First Kindle: Chose Touch over the Keyboard
I've had my Touch for almost a day now, and it's pretty awesome. I'm not a big reviewer, but I figured several people may be in a similar position as I was yesterday, so here we go...I'm definitely an avid reader. Actually, as I type this, I have roughly 1000 books sitting on a wall of shelves behind me. E-readers have always intrigued me, but I've never felt like they were worth $199 or more; however, when the Kindle Fire was announced, I thought they had released the Kindle for me.I watched video reviews, "hands-on" videos, read numerous reviews, etc. I was pretty sure that I wanted a Fire, but as I thought about it, I wasn't convinced that the Fire really provided me with access to anything that I couldn't do on my phone (HTC Inspire 4g). Other than a bigger screen, the Fire was actually pretty limited (for my purposes). I mean, I would only be able to use the browser and watch videos in areas with WiFi (i.e. at home, at work, or at retail location with...
A worthy upgrade over other Kindles!

Dont listen to the poor reviews!!
So I have wanted one of these for a while now and went on and read a LOT of the reviews here on Amazon. To be honest some of the poor reviews had me a little worried! But I am leaving this review to ASSURE you that nearly ALL of the negative reviews were definitely coming from operator errors (if you get my drift) and people who didnt have ANY idea what they were buying...Clearly the Defender series is going to be a little beefy. Which I would HOPE is why your looking at this sort of case! For a big-bad iphone defending case! and that is JUST what you get! So the reviews on size I feel are unfair, based on the fact that you should have known its a sturdier case. (I find this NO problem for the protection it provides. Being a girl, I couldnt fit an iphone in my pants pocket to begin with, so its not an issue...And I would like to stress its not THAT big. Some people (a good number) have complained about a hole on the top being for the headphones being on the...
Great Defense (especially for those Clumsy)
Honestly I was a little apprehensive about getting an Otterbox, due to the size/bulkiness of the case compares to a case-less phone but after breaking 3 iPhones due to dropping them I figures it was time. After a day or two, I was completely used to the case. I love the silicone portion as it helps me have a better grip so that I am less likely to drop the phone. It still fits in my back pocket as well (another thing I thought the size of the case wouldn't allow). Excellent case and quality. Snug fit but still allows full functionality while protecting your phone 100%!
Love it!
Dropped my phone on concrete the same day that I put this case on! Phone is still in perfect condition and so is the case. Not a scratch on either one!!!

It's much better than most reviews make it out to be, but not perfect
First of all, this cover is not nearly as bad as some of the reviews make it out to be. It doesn't feel like "cheap" plastic, nor does it feel like it's going to immediately disintegrate into a pile of rubbish. So let's start having a look at it in detail:1) The back. Mine is very thin leather, formed around what appears to be a rubber-like shell. In my opinion, the leather on the back looks pretty good. It's tightly form-fitting, and form-fitted and bonded to the shell, so I can see where some casual users might mistake it for plastic. It is in my opinion, most definitely leather. Is it "quality" leather? Well, I suppose so, but it'd also have to be extremely thin quality leather.2) The shell. The next layer would be what I call the form-fitting shell. It comprises the structure that makes up the back half of the cover. The kindle touch fits very tightly into this shell. It's certainly not going to fall out of there. In fact, it might not be all that easy to...
Actually have the case
I preordered my Kindle Touch and Lighted cover on September 28th. Got my kindle day early but case shipment has been a mess. First there was no date for shipping. Then I got an estimate of December 22nd and in about 3 hours got a follow email that my case was to be delivered today.Case showed up an hour ago and as soon as it came in I attached my KT to it. I had original K3G with lighted cover before this one and its definitely a better design then earlier version. Kindle Touch weighs 7.3 ounces and Cover 5.4 ounces so its not light weight. This case is a TPU style case which has hard plastic back. Leather is not of high quality like the premium brands that exist. I actually like the back design compared to the previous model as kindle is attached inside it and not connected via 2 clips on the side. Light position is much improved and provides more even light. Also its easier to operate then previous model. Price is still high for what it offers but not much...
Much Better than Expected!
Given previous reviews, I wasn't sure I was going to be happy with this product - but I couldn't be more pleased! The case arrived today. The fit is ... perfect. The unit is snug - without the distraction of elastic or exterior "holders". The light works brilliantly! It is comfortably bright, and covers the whole page. Better yet, it is always there and recharges with the Kindle. The leather is very smooth, over a rubberized/plastic gray case that matches the color of the Kindle. The stitching is FLAWLESS. The cover sits flush to the unit and is lined with a dark grey felt that also matches the color of the Kindle. It is so lightweight, I was amazed (probably because my K2 + case is considerably heavier!)What this case is not, is a beautifully padded, high end, pebbled...

Electric light gas home furnace ignition?

Oct 29, 2008 by Algore | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs

This thing did it to me last year as well. It eventually lit, to the thanks of my family for trying to kill them. There is gas, the pilot is supposed to be electric, electricity is flowing, it says not to remove the cover and light it myself. I am

Your furnace either has a "hot surface ignitor" or an "electronic spark ignitor". The spark one (think stove top) will some times just quit.
The hot-surface-ignitor can work intermitently when it starts to go bad.

Getting ready for winter's chill

01.01.70
In addition to being a coping mechanism, the Love It or List It host (Wednesdays, 9 p. m. , W Network) says it’s important for home decorators to make the swap for their own comfort and quality of life. With the season’s first snowfall right around the corner, it’s time for homeowners to prepare for those long, dark winter nights at home. We have to have a clear sense of the seasons to pace ourselves during the year and stay interested and interesting while we work incredibly hard,” she explains. “By changing up the decor, we feel renewed each time and break the monotony of 12 months of what is usually very hard work. For her, making seasonal decor changes are “things I need to do to get through it, and I can vouch for it helping a lot. I still haven’t learned to love it, so it’s a challenge for me to stay out of the dumps,” says Hilary Farr. I am someone whose soul is fed by light.

Ask The Expert: Are At-Home Devices Putting A Dent In Your Pocket?

Source: Make Her Up

Dermatologists around the US weigh in on the efficacy of at-home beauty devices, and offer their picks at devices that actually work. I know Erin has tried ansr (below) and know she liked it, but that might be the extent of our at-home devicing. The only at-home device I’ve tried myself was the Noxema Exfoliator I talk about below. (Bear with me). Below we have 5 at-home devices that have been rated BY dermatologists, and if you’ve got the money – you might give them a try....
