I own a 2003 Toyota Corolla CE. My car insurance is moderately expensive, and I've been told that installing an alarm system would help lower my insurance. But I don't want a cheap alarm that can be easily set off by someone's sound system.
As the poster above me said, check with your insurance company to find out if there's anything they do or don't cover. BUT, because Toyotas of pretty much any kind (along with Nissans, Hondas, etc.) are a hot car, they're going to have high theft insurance.

I want a car alarm system that is $150 or less that makes cool noises such as "chirping" when you lock and unlock the car and makes cool siren sounds when the alarm goes off.. Any good ideas??
First off, $150 isn't going to get you a decent alarm with the install.

With the Interstate highway system in the 60s you could travel fast across the country in 3 or 4 days. The technologies and the change in consciousness just sort of converged for a certain number of years…after that the technologies made it impossible again. When the hippie revolution came along and the two things converged so there was a meeting in time that made hitchhiking a cultural necessity. Then it went out of favour in the 50s when everybody got their own car and became paranoid. When I read On the Road, what amazed me was what a lame hitchhiker Jack Kerouac was. But I think On the Road created expectations in terms of being able to hitchhike. In Dharma Bums, Gary Snyder is more in tuned with what was coming in the 60s in terms of being a zen hitchhiker. Hitchhiking always existed in the American road mythos. It became very popular in WWII because it was that sort of era of cooperation, the war effort and stuff like that. He’d start an across-continent journey and get to Pennsylvania where he’d take a bus....
We went on the London Eye and waited about 2 hours for it. With your ticket you get a free screening of a 4D short film about the Eye. Today we woke up a bit early and went to get our free continental breakfast. We then walked over to West Minster Abbey and went inside and checked that out. At night we went and checked out the city and took If I knew that earlier I totally would have gone a few hours early to ensure to get a good spot for the parade. We then wanted to go see the changing of the guards, but it was still early, so we walked around waterloo and when we made it over to the Buckingham Palace, there was a giant crowd all down the street. There was a parade and we didn’t know what it was but took pictures from what we could see. Saturday: I’M MOVING TO LONDON....
