This alarm works the way it's described
I've had this alarm for 2 months now and just ordered a second for the back door. The door alarm is VERY loud and piercing. I would think a burglar would not bother entering a home if this alarm was set off. If you want to use the Home mode (so that it sounds off right away when the door is opened), you have a choice of selecting "chime" or "alarm." For the Home mode using "alarm" you do have to activate it with your 4 digit code but you do not need to punch in your code if you're using "chime" for Home mode. When you set it to "Away" mode, you just need to enter your 4 digit code and leave within 45 seconds. When you come home, you have 30 seconds to enter your code to deactivate the alarm.
Great product does exactly what it says. Recommended.
I have three of these. One is used as an instant on alarm for a door that nobody is supposed to EVER open. The alarm is LOUD AS THE DICKENS !!! I mean LOUD LOUD ear hurting loud. That's a good thing. The other two are used as door chimes for every time a door opens (in our case at our place of business).Th unit comes with both screws and double-sided pressure sensitive tape. Installation is a snap. They will mount on either side of the door, too. Setting your 4 digit code is also a no-brainer: hit the learn button, then enter your 4 numbers on the keypad. See the green light. You're done.If anybody has a problem with this thing, then they are expecting it to be something it is not. Oh, of course it has batteries. And they are not included. So get some and quit whining. For what it does, it does it well... and for a peanuts price, too. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
good purchase
this item does exactly what it says it does. the area i live in was having a rash of break ins mid day. my husband and i live in a 3 story colonial. it is hard enough to hear whats going on on other floors but add in daily life like tv, air conditioners, fans and music and you cant hear at all. when we are home during the day we set the alarm to chime and it lets us know if our door opens, from every floor. at night we set it to home so that if an intruder enters we will hear them. during the day when we are at work it is set to away to alert my neighbors if anyone tries to enter our home. you can not simply take out the batteries as another review stated ... you need a screwdriver to do so. and with the sheer volume of the sound that is outputted by the alarm, anyone would run from the home, thinking it was connected to a company. deffinatly worth the investment. we have put one on our basement door as well, to alert us if that door opens since we do not go down there very often.

Excellent unit, Accurate, and Relatively Easy to Install
I had a Ford back-up sensor system in my 2004 F-250 and when I traded it in on a 2006 with a larger motor, the 2006 did not have the back-up system. I had grown to rely on it while backing up to and hooking up horse trailers plus helping me in crowded parking lots. I wanted one that was just as good as the Ford installed sensors and the ATEASED by Stellar Security looked the closest to factory installed.I installed this system in my truck in about 4 hours. I have a crew cab long bed and all the wires were long enough but only if the control unit was installed under the bed. Instructions say dry environment so I intend to cover it to reduce the chance of road spray. The monitor unit looks good in a truck interior. Not sure you BMW types would be happy with it but fit my needs. The wire took some time to run under the trim panels but the final result was nice. The sensors themselves can be painted according to the literature but mine were black and looked...

Best bang for the buck.
I had used Escort radar detectors exclusively for 15 years and thought they were the best detectors for the price. Earlier this year, however, I used an Escort 8500 X50 for a lengthy driving trip and found it just barely adequate.I had a 5K mile driving trip to take a few weeks ago so I took a chance on this unit. I'm so glad I did. What a great product! The performance of this unit BLOWS the Escort 8500 X50 out of the water. I mean blows it right out of the water. I got warnings with this unit WAY before I needed them, whereas I got them just in time with the 8500. Perhaps more importantly, I got virtually no false warnings with this unit whereas I got them ALL THE TIME with the Escort unit. The Escort unit had me braking every 3 miles for what turned out to be nothing almost every time. Again when it counted--when it was real police--the Escort only warned me a split second or two before I would have been nabbed.I am so seriously impressed with the advance...
First impression
First: the Amazon picture of the V940 is not correct. The unit that I received looks identical to the V955. This is why I'm reviewing so quickly.Second: I thought that the mounting bracket was so small that a mistake had been made. But the mounting method is very clever, adjustable and easy to perform. It can be mounted in even a sweeping windshield. The suction cups have exceptional grip to them. Well done.Third: Round trip on the LIE and zero false alarms.Forth: The instructions recommend using in the highway mode, which I did. Therefore why would any of the more expensive and expansive Bels be necessary.Fifth: The only negative so far. The top of the unit is gray. Black would have been preferable and less reflective. I found some cross-stitch material at Michael's, traced an outline of the gray area, cut out 5 holes, glued it onto the Bel, and now I have no more complaints.
"Good Price, Good Performance, not too Shabby"
I've had my Beltronics Vector 940 for about two weeks. This is my first radar detector, and it seems to be getting the job done, and well at that. I've done a lot of research on radar detectors, and have been able to weed out the sub-par brands and models. I'd heard nothing but good things about Bel, Whistler, and Escort detectors, and only the former two had products in my price range (sub-two hundred).I'd actually put off buying a radar detector for a few months, to save for a few other things on my car, and after Whistler's Pro-78 () went out of production--which had been my pick--I saw it's update model and it had less than desirable reviews. Finally, about a month ago, I decided on finally getting a detector, and had my eyes...

Should I buy a car alarm system from the dealership?

Dec 24, 2010 by James Bond | Posted in Buying & Selling

Should I buy the car alarm system from the dealership? I just bought a 2011 Honda Accord. I was trying to get one for $250 dollars and they charged me $375 bucks for it at the end stating that the cost was $345 bucks for the dealership. I think the guy

For the extra 100 bucks, it was worth it..

To #1 be sure that it's compatible with your car (without jacking with the wiring whch WILL void your warranty)

For it to be compatible with your existing Honda Remotes, instead

What car alarm should I buy for my 97 prelude?

Nov 20, 2010 by Andy Colorado | Posted in Buying & Selling

I would like the sweet features like key-less entry and remote start. But i've heard bad things about viper and i just don't know anything about alarm systems. What do you think would be best. Cost is less important but i'm not rich at all.

The cost of the system described would exceed the book value of the car...not economically wise for resale.

A number of federal programs, notably the Advanced Technology Vehicles Manufacturing Loan Program and the loan guarantee program for innovative energy technologies, were designed to help fund green-vehicle development and manufacturing. Tablets are still a fad

Source: Software Development Times Blog

As you may already have read, I recently posted a piece about why I think tablets are a fad . I've had time to contemplate and sit with this declaration for a week or so, and I do still think it's true: Tablets are a fad. And most importantly, we will never see tablets outsell mobile phones. But at the end of the day, it doesn't matter what any of these companies are trying to build: tablets will never be as important as any existing platforms. They'll never outsell servers. They'll never outsell desktop PCs. I did not mean to infer that Apple's iPad is the perfect tablet. It's just the first tablet to get to the starting line. In my previous piece , I said that only Apple was getting it right....

Day 9 - Tuesday 28th June - mileage 2723- between Istanbul and Ankara, Turkey

Source: The Orange Rider...

At about 2:30 I arrived at the Turkish border, and then proceeded to have an hour run around from the Turkish bureaucracy. Tomtom seemed determined today to keep me off the main motorway that runs from Sophia to Istanbul. I would no sooner get on the motorway than it would be telling me to get off onto a side road. The pot holes on these side roads were horrendous, and you needed to be very careful as you come off the motorway. Eventually someone arrived, but when I suggested breakfast with an eating mime I got the shrugged shoulder response which either meant "fat chance" or "I don't know what your talking about". Eventually I gave up with Tomtom and trusted my own instincts and we made good progress. There was no other guests staying and the place seemed deserted....
