This stuff saved me $4000.00 +
I bought an old Mercedes 124 to restore with my sons. i found that the car had an evaporator leak. These cars seem to be built around the evaporator and to replace it involves disassembly of the front of the car. The lowest quote I had was $4,000.00 to replace the evaporator and recharge the system. I figured i would try this stuff first. I followed the directions and almost 1 year later the AC still blows ice cold!

Didn't expect much, but it works like magic!
My 1994 Explorer had completely non-functional air conditioning. I replaced a rusted out line and blocked orifice tube, and the accumulator/drier. However, when I charged the system, it leaked down within 24 hours. I could hear a hissing, but was unable to find the leak. Three cans of ultraviolet dye later, I was still completely unable to figure out just where the leak was. Not knowing what part to replace, I had almost given up on fixing the A/C in my truck, and figured I'd give this Cliplight sealant a try - after spending so much on parts and cans of refrigerant, what did I have to lose? Even though my system was leaking down faster than what the Cliplight documentation said it could fix, I thought I'd give it a try anyway.When it arrived, I was unimpressed. Saved my car!
Like many owners of older vehicles that have converted to R-134 refrigerant, I found that the smaller molecule is harder to contain in an aging system. My freon recharges were lasting only 6-7 weeks, and the solution proposed by repair experts would have cost way more than my '92 Sable is worth. My seasoned Pep Boys shop manager was dubious about the chances of success for this product, having already seen the failed results of many different sealants. At the same time, he was glad to take my money to vacuum-pump my system for well over an hour in order to evacuate all the moisture -- this is critically important. Now I did not follow Cliplight's advice and replace the accumulator because my seasoned Pep Boys shop manager opined that boiling out all the moisture should be enough. (Not to mention that replacing the accumulator would have been an additional $175.) After recharging with R-134 and the Super Seal Pro, I added a step that wasn't included in the instructions: I...

Surprising performance Not as good as high vac pump but...
This low cost solution to vacuuming an a/c system is a viable option. I was somewhat skeptical being an old a/c mechanic and having always used a robinair high vacuum pump. In a pinch, I needed a low cost way to vacuum and auto a/c system after replacing some o rings so I purchased one of these and was amazed first that it even worked and second that it produced adaquate results to allow me to recharge free of enough non-condensables to get by. The very reason for vacuuming is to remove moisture, air and any substances that are non-condensible within the a/c system. If not removed these non-condensables reduce the performance of any a/c system or even stop it from working.Now the performance wasn't up to what I could get with my trusty Robinair, but was satisfactory. The water column it pulled was about 23 inches on a my gauges. (My robinair will pull down close to 28 inches). (I think a perfect vacuum is between 28 and 29 inches of water column on a...

Works great but needs tons of air
My air compressor outputs 4.5 SCFM @ 90 PSI and the operating manual for this product states:"A constant air source of 75 psi is required for pump operation. The pump has an air consumption of 4.2 SCFM and will pull a vacuum up to 29.7 inches of mercury at sea level."The fact that my air compressor outputs higher SCFM at a higher PSI, I was led to believe that this product would pull a vacuum of 29.7 inches of mercury at sea level with my air compressor. I was wrong, it pulls a vacuum of about 26 inches of mercury, which is useless. With a better compressor this product would be fine, as when I released the air from the tank at ~110 PSI it would pull a 29.7 inches of mercury vacuum until it dropped to around 70 PSI where it maintained but was only able to pull a 26 inches of mercury vacuum. I was able to maintain an intermittent 29.7 inches of mercury vacuum through manipulation of the manifold gauge on/off screw and the air compressor hose on/off so it...

Great! Get this for your Air Conditioner and you will see and feel the difference.
My family lives in a 1920s bungalow without central air and heat. My son and I have been having atrocious allergies, so I ordered these filters. They were easy to install, and I was able to use two packages to filter three window units, as one of them is small. The first thing I noticed is that the back window unit, which normally smells musty when it is turned on, had no smell whatsoever. We turned on the window units at night, on fan, to filter the air. The next morning, everyone's allergies were gone. I cannot recommend this product highly enough for people who don't have central air. These inexpensive little filters are vastly superior to the freestanding HEPA air filter we have, that is for sure!

Good interaction with Interdynamics customer support.
Interdynamics AFK-12 customer support was helpful. This may supplement the instructions on the unit. As I understand it, you press the round black on button first to turn on the unit it will cycle and beep to show it is on. Then give the black handle a 3 -4 second squeeze to calibrate it to air pressure. The unit will go through its measurement cycle. Connect the hose to the low side coupler and while holding the unit upright (if a freon can is screwed on), squeeze the black handle for only 2 to 4 seconds to get a measurement. A short squeeze will take a measurement, a longer 15 second squeeze will add freon if a freon can is screwed on. The unit will cycle after each 15 second fill.But always use an additional 2 -4 second squeeze in between the 15 second fills to measure and see if it needs more freon added. I have two of these units in different locations and will have to play with these instructions.I felt comfortable with the Arctic Freeze Freon Fill kit...

Evaluate your low side service port before buying
I purchased this product to check the charge level on a 98 Pontiac Bonneville and 2004 Chrysler Town and Country. I figured that since it is a computerized "smart" unit, that also measures outside ambient temperature, I would not have any trouble. Well, after dropping $44 at Advance Auto here is my experience.Firstly, Reading Is Fundamental. For those born in the mid to late 60's you may remember the RIF campaign. When I took the first measurements with the unit it read "low charge". I ran the check three times for verification. I was about to go pick up some R134a when I notice something on the end of the blue quick connector tube. It read "push to engage". I went back to the low side service port and using my thumb....."Pushed to Engage". There was an audible "click" sound which confirmed you were solidly connected to the low side port.Secondly, the blue hose could be another six to eight inches longer. SMART -- not very
The first clue you should be aware of since my experience with this Charger is fully explained in the first Troubleshooting Guide's FAQ: "ISSUE/CONDITION - Green light does not light after adding 2+ cans (more than 24 OZ) of R-134a refrigerant (only White Light lit); POSSIBLE CAUSE - AC System Leak OR TXV A/C System with rapidly cycling compressor; REMEDIES/ACTION - Check for leaking oil on refrigerant lines & A/C components. Seek Professional Help. Check vent temperature. If temperature cold, stop charging." This last sentence is in my opinion the first clue that this Charges isn't so SMART. I order it simply because I wanted an easy way to check systems and to dispense refrigerant. Was I sadly disappointed. Both vehicles I own, a 97 Merc and an 07 PT Cruiser which what I believe have perfectly working A/C systems failed. The Charger would only register the White Light -- Low Charge.
