The best filter for heat pumps.
I was using the red Filtrete 1000 filters and my HVAC tech said those were too restrictive for a heat pump system since a heat pump relies on more airflow to obtain their BTU rating than a conventional furnace system. He recommended I use a cheap pleated filter one step above the worthless fiberglass type filters. Now I believe that a heat pump relies on good air flow but I also know that HVAC techs rely on service calls. They love to come out and clean your system because it is full of dust from a cheap filter and charge you an arm and a leg. Dirty systems are also not covered under warranty so it's a win win for them. I did some research and found that some cheap pleated filters can also be very restrictive. I really wanted to use a good filter like the Filtretes but needed something with more airflow. I saw on the blue 600 Filtrete filters that it said "Best Filtrete filter for high velocity equipment" so I tried one and it is the perfect match between airflow and air cleaning...

These are great- just be careful that too much filtration can OVERHEAT your heat and air unitsI was using the Filtrete dark blue 1500 rated filters and thought they were great. But eventually I found the air flow was less and less and then it almost stopped altogether. I had to call my Heat/ AC guys and they told me that if I used the higher rated filter (1500 or so, different for each system), the one that 'stopped' more allergens/ dust/ etc, that these high rated ones fill up quickly with all the gunk the catch, and that they can slow down the air flow so much that it may cause your heat/ AC machinery to overheat and damage itself.He switched me to the red Filtretes- they are rated 1000 and not 1500. If you truly need higher levels of filtration, make sure your heat/ ac system can handle it, and maybe you have to change the filters more often (the really highly rated filters grab EVERYTHING so all the dust etc builds up much more quickly and could block the...

This stuff saved me $4000.00 +
I bought an old Mercedes 124 to restore with my sons. i found that the car had an evaporator leak. These cars seem to be built around the evaporator and to replace it involves disassembly of the front of the car. The lowest quote I had was $4,000.00 to replace the evaporator and recharge the system. I figured i would try this stuff first. I followed the directions and almost 1 year later the AC still blows ice cold!

Didn't expect much, but it works like magic!
My 1994 Explorer had completely non-functional air conditioning. I replaced a rusted out line and blocked orifice tube, and the accumulator/drier. However, when I charged the system, it leaked down within 24 hours. I could hear a hissing, but was unable to find the leak. Three cans of ultraviolet dye later, I was still completely unable to figure out just where the leak was. Not knowing what part to replace, I had almost given up on fixing the A/C in my truck, and figured I'd give this Cliplight sealant a try - after spending so much on parts and cans of refrigerant, what did I have to lose? Even though my system was leaking down faster than what the Cliplight documentation said it could fix, I thought I'd give it a try anyway.When it arrived, I was unimpressed. How could this tiny little can of sealant possibly fix my system? Saved my car!
Like many owners of older vehicles that have converted to R-134 refrigerant, I found that the smaller molecule is harder to contain in an aging system. My freon recharges were lasting only 6-7 weeks, and the solution proposed by repair experts would have cost way more than my '92 Sable is worth. My seasoned Pep Boys shop manager was dubious about the chances of success for this product, having already seen the failed results of many different sealants. At the same time, he was glad to take my money to vacuum-pump my system for well over an hour in order to evacuate all the moisture -- this is critically important. Now I did not follow Cliplight's advice and replace the accumulator because my seasoned Pep Boys shop manager opined that boiling out all the moisture should be enough. (Not to mention that replacing the accumulator would have been an additional $175.) After recharging with R-134 and the Super Seal Pro, I added a step that wasn't included in the instructions: I...

Extreme allergy sufferers ALERT
I am always looking for ways to make my life less misserable as my allergies affect all the other conditions of my body especially digestion and Migraine headaches.....that's why I say "Extreme Allergic, or in my case "Extreme Sensitivities")Bought this product a week ago and installed it immmediately in my home furnace (air blown of course).
