This is a quality product (and made in the USA, no less). No comparison to the cheaper import models. Very stout construction.
Works on jeans too!
I was working on a job in Richmond, Va. and ripped my new jeans. One of the guys had this exact unit. I don't sew, but I was in a spot. It took him about 2 minutes to explain how it works. It's not the prettiest patch ever done, but fine for construction attire. The jeans are still going strong after 6 months and I am sold on this device. I'll be ordering one for myself today. I am glad that I read the reviews of similar products before buying. I would have expected the competitors to have similar products. Thanks to Amazon reviewers, I now know that they do not. This is definitely the real deal, and I am going for this one. All the better, its made in my favorite country, the good ole US of A. (I am always stunned when I go to the store and see cookies made in China. We need to keep our jobs here! Our stores should be ashamed to even ship cookies in here from China that has some of the dirtiest water on the planet.)

Time-Sert thread repair kitThis tool is the perfect thing to fix that threaded hole where you've over-torqued the bolt and stripped the threads. It is much better than spending hundreds of dollars replacing the cylinder heads on your motorcycle engine. Fast and easy to use. Don't use power tools with this kit, use your hands, they are much more sensitive and you'll get better and more satisfying results. The tools are very high quality and very sharp, so using the strength of your hands is all you need. The included directions are clear and easy to use. Fantastic!!!
works as it should
You definitely want to have access to an air compressor if you own this kit. You also need a tap wrench and some thread lube. I was fortunate enough to have these things on hand. Actually, I used WD40 when tapping the threads and it worked well enough. And I used some two-stroke oil for the installation driver. I only used these things because I had them on-hand, otherwise it would have been ideal to spend extra on some actual thread lube. When tapping the threads, you have to blow out the chips more than you might think. Lube the threads often, too.I would recommend getting the Time-Sert tap guide so the newly tapped threads will go straight down and not slightly off on a diagonal. I almost had that problem, since I don't have a tap guide, but I got lucky.This is easy enough to use when you follow the instructions. I only had to use it once so far, and it worked on my first try! It really helped to see the videos online, as well as having the paper...
Product saved me on stupid move
Let me start this review by urging everyone reading this to use a torque wrench whenever dealing with steel threaded parts going into aluminum engine cases. Now that we have that out of the way...if you neglect to do so (as I so brilliantly did) and strip out a very difficult to find engine case (as I also did)...then this is the best option.A more solid and reliable option than a helicoil, this product is easy to use, very precise and a permanent solution for a stripped out stud hole or similar issue. If you don't do it yourself, make sure the machine shop you use does.
cross threaded spark plug?

i have recentley aquired a sym shark 125 4v scooter apparently it has not been running for ages after doing all of the usual checks i have noticed that the spark plug is crossthreaded now i have seen loads of diffrent cylinder head thread repair kits
Ok as far a the cross thread is concerned try to get a Heli Coil repair set, they are easy to install and relatively cheap.
The fuel problem sounds like the float valve needs to be replaced in the carb.
