Fun but no Honda
Fun to ride, but the engine flywheel broke the second time I took it out. The Riot is chinese made, like all the go-peds, and the parts seem very cheap in comparison to my Honda Ruckus, which has given me years of trouble free fun. It's kind of a pain to mix the gas on this, too, since it's a 2-stroke with no oil injection system. $1600 seems like a high price for what you get. I would recommend spending a little more on the 4-stroke Ruckus, although it's not nearly as portable.
The Goped Riot...
This thing is just flat out fun! I wasn't really sure how well it would pull me at 180 pounds but it does!!! You can pretty much take this anywhere...

Bad start, great finish.....................
This is for everyone who gave this quad a bad review because the charge does not last more then five minutes or less. I purchased this dirt quad for my 8-year-old son and like some of you I was quite disappointed with the quad's charge longevity. The quad did not last five minutes before my son was wheeling it back into the garage for a charge, and it was brand new! At first I thought like the rest of you who experienced this same problem, "It was just an expensive piece of junk". But I noticed when the battery went dead and we put it on charge the light on the charger would go from red to green in just a few minutes, a lot less then the recommended charge time. So I figured maybe the charger was no good. Luckily we also own the Razor go-cart, which uses the same charger and always worked great. So I swapped out the chargers but the go-cart still charged fine. And the charger on the quad still turned from red to green in just a few minutes and still died out fast. So I went to Razor's...
Impressed
I've seen my share of wheeled toys, and was positively impressed with the quality of this product. It has a solid frame, suspension, regular inflated tires. I'm not afraid that after a few days of use it will break, given the rough use it will get of kids at that age. I took it for a short test drive myself, and the motor was strong enough to move and adult uphill. The shipping takes a bit longer and you have to be home to receive it. But it takes 2 people to lift the crate it comes in, so home delivery is worth the convenience. I think the only design change I'd like to see is a reverse mode. The motor control only allows forward, which if you have to turn-around in a tight space can be tricky. But that's a minor issue overall. Update (5/28): This ATV has seen a lot of use in the last few weeks, including many sliding wheel stunts, etc. After one particularly heavy right it stopped working with a blown fuse and control box. The one thing which...
is it a toy, or is it the real thing?
This is no plastic ride-on toy like Powerwheels or Pegro. It has a welded steel frame, rear suspension (with adjustable pre-tension), a rear cross-drilled disc brake (operated by hand), a 350W brushed DC motor with a pulse width modulated motor controller, a weatherproof power switch and charge port, and a low battery indicator on the throttle. This ride is metal, so it is heavy with dual 12V batteries. Two adults can easily lift it into a truck though. The tires are pneumatic rubber tires - wheel barrow or hand truck variety (easy to replace). The wheels are steel and use precision ball bearings. Without the clatter of plastic tires all you hear is the humming motor and some chatter from the chain drive; what a relief from plastic on gravel :-). The steering has real tie-rod ends and adjustable alignment. The steering is linear but will make very sharp turns lock to lock. The grip throttle is a real throttle... You can make the quad bike creep along at a...

Customer Reviews

So far, the best Razor product we've purchased.
And we've had a few of them. I have read many complaints about Razor and their customer service. Fortunately, my experience has been very positive. This is the fourth razor ride on toy that I've purchased and they have all performed wonderfully. My kid's pocket ROcket is almost 4 years old now, and is still working well on the original battery. ANyway, THIS KART IS AWESOME! In addition to arriving fully assembled, and charged up, this thing does everything it claims. It's got great torque, crawls right through mud and over bumps and uphill, and is a very well constructed little buggy. Like the MX350, I would prefer a footbrake, because my 3 year old can drive this thing, but can't squeeze the hand brake. OH well, he's younger than the recommended age so this is on me. THe motor provides more than enough " engine braking" anyway to bring the thing to a pretty rapid halt when you let off the gas. I am verypleased in every way with this buggy...
The rest of the story (what they say in the manual that you want to know)
I bought this product because my 2 kids (aged 6 and 7.5) want a "little car". They always wanted a "power wheels" and still do! But I wouldn't buy one then and I'm certainly not going to buy one now. This product seemed like a good solution - its not as fast as the Razor go-kart - 8mph vs 12 mph. And the idea that it is "off-road entertainment" is very compelling as we have some hard packed dirt paths nearby. I disliked the razor go-kart because it requires the kids to either drive in the street OR in a parking lot which didn't seem super safe, and also seemed like it would get boring sooner. I like the idea that we could take this to many parks and just run around. I was very curious to see what the owners manual said, and I'm going to share that with you. We all know that owners manuals can be a bit restrictive, but, it does say what it says for a reason. Keep in mind, I think this is a great product, but I think you deserve the full...
Razor Dune Buggy Better Then Expected!
After having a "real" Dune Buggy years ago, I purchased two Razor Dune Buggies for my grandchildren for Christmas (6 1/2 and 8 yrs old). The order was delivered much faster then expected and the only thing I had to do is add a little air to the tires and charge the batterys. The Buggy is belt extremely well and because the tires have groves for off road riding, it moves over grass and smooth surfaces much better then other ride on toys. The hand controls were easy for the kids to operate and the 6 1/2 yr old had no problems at all. And "yes" it definitely travels FAST enough! I believe a child over 10 yrs old would probably be too large to ride comfortably, but the Buggy would probably carry them easily any way. The battery lasted a good 45 minutes or more, and ran full throttle most of the time. There are many-many safty factors built in and the Manual gave good safety rules and advice. This also was very important to me AND the kids...

Im going to review in 3 areas; Quality, Value, and Usability.
Im going to review in 3 areas; Quality, Value, and Usability. Quality: poor build quality, mostly cheep plastic, but it wont fall off your bike and break. (I just wouldn't trust this on a car.... or extended exposure to weather) I ordered 2, and 1 only works at about 50% capacity... so all in all... it holds true to the "made in china" stigma. Value: considering these come with batteries for $3, ($1.50 each) its a great deal. considering shipping ($4.50) it rapidly dwindles in the minds eye... Usability: very useable on the whole(regarding people with nonstandard valve stems, they dont fit.) easy to understand where the batteries go and whatnot.... lol OVERALL: for under 8 bucks shipped, you can have 2 glowing valve stems, and they are very bright! (clarification; the 'good one' is very bright) it was almost startling at first actually. P.S. If anyone would like to see a video of what they actually look like on a...
Nice and bright, but doesn't fit presta (skinny) valves
I had been hoping to add a little extra light to my road bike, so I figured I was willing to take a $5 gamble and see if they would fit on my valves. It looks like "fits most tires" means that it fits on schrader, and possibly donlop valves. I'm not unhappy though since the product seems good, and I just slapped them on the mountain bike I use for burningman.

Gilera's King Kong of scooters

Imported by Vespa South Africa (Vespa and Gilera both belong to the Piaggio group), it’s the most powerful scooter money can buy, with its 840cc twin-cylinder, fuel-injected engine. If you’re of the opinion that scooters are only for girls, you might change your mind if I told you there was one that beats a Lamborghini Gallardo in a quarter-mile sprint, and has an engine roar that can send rats scurrying away in terror. Please welcome the super scooter, aka the Gilera GP800, which I’ve just had the guilty pleasure of test riding.

It’s not guaranteed that you will see them, but if there is not much food in the jungle they will come to the park for an easy meal. Maybe an early start would be a wiser move tomorrow when a visit to Semenggoh Nature Reserve to see the Orang utans was planned. It pissed down leaving us with no choice but to ride back to the village to purchase raincoats for our trip home.

So the majority of the gang wanted to rent scooters and scoot around the island.  I couldve taken or left the scooters at first.  So we waited and waited and waited and finally Adam come scootin up to us and tells us that there's been a mishap and Mike had a little spill. SO, while we were waiting for Chris to get all that straightened out and make it way back to us, Adam & Mike decided to take a little "joy ride" while we waited.  About 20 minutes later, Brittany came walking up to us and said that Chris didn't feel comfortable riding these things and took it back.  I'm not kidding you, we waited like 45 minutes for them to get back. " but he didn't want to (first mistake)....
