Pearl Izumi Glove
Glove looks great and has padding in all the appropriate locations to help keep your hands from going numb on long rides. I had to return the first pair i purchased, they were too small. all clothing i wear is size med/large so i ordered a size large glove. unfortunately the large was too small so be aware that these sizes run on the smaller size (XL work GREAT for me - I'm 6'2" 180 lbs).
Great Cycling Glove
I am a big fan of Pearl iZUMi, so naturally I had high hopes for this cycling glove. After using these gloves for two short/moderate rides (7 and 14 miles), I'm happy to report that these gloves have held up to my expectations. For a lower-priced boutique cycling glove, the 'Select' from Pearl iZUMi is a great value. They fit securely and my hands never got too sweaty due to quick moisture wicking and venting. The gloves were just as easy to remove as they were to put on and the special absorbent fabric along the outside portion of the thumb did not irritate my face when using it to wipe away excess sweat. The "gel-foam" pads are really more "foam" than they are "gel" but both placement and thickness is just right.Recommended.
I want to wear them all the time!
Immediate reaction to these gloves was "hmm... the quality seems a bit on the lower side". HOWEVER... I quickly considered that these things are going to be getting sweaty, dirty, and roughed up, and I don't even want something i'm going to have to feel bad about replacing. (THINK OF AN ESCALADE OR CADILLAC GOING OFFROADING)VERDICT: With these gloves, you definitely get what you pay for. AWESOME biking gloves... Great ventilation and the easy off tab is a great addition.I Just used these gloves for the first time yesterday on a 12 mile ride and they were more than great. The cushioning does indeed feel more like foam, but it's a great feel. I have no complaints. It most definitely does its job in any way. The cushioning was the main reason for buying ANY type of biking gloves because I plan on doing some long long rides this summer and I have no doubts that these will be the perfect candidate. For size inquiries:I purchased an XL. I am...

Great buy for the price, very comfortable if adjusted properly
I had one of these on my road bike for about two years. In that time, I probably rode about 1000 miles, generally doing 10-30 miles/ride.This seat can be extremely comfortable, and for the price, is definitely a good deal. Most riders will certainly get their money's worth. Many of the other negative reviews on here describe exactly what I noticed with this seat before I adjusted it properly, which takes a lot of trial and error. Because it is so soft, when you depress it, you don't end up exactly where you expect to, so you may end up aligning it a different position than you think you initially should. For me, I had to tilt it back about 10 degrees from level. After that, it was EXTREMELY comfortable. I can ride 50 miles and feel quite cozy. The negatives I see with this are durability related. The outer fabric is pretty cheap, and after getting it wet with sweat or rain, it will eventually pull free of the inner, rubberrized layers. You'll...
I LOVE this seat!
This is the most comfortable bike seat I have ever sat on, much better than the Butterfly Tri gel seat I bought for about $100 and never used. I have one on my tri bike, on my beat-around mountain bike and will be buying another one for a new road bike I'm getting.During a local 2006 century ride, I saw another woman with the same Schwinn seat on her road bike and we both agreed that this seat is the best!!!
Awesome Schwinn Bicycle Seat!!!
I have been looking around for a bicycle seat to ride on rough trails. The one my bike came with was not cutting it. ;) I ended up choosing this one, because of the 'give' in the narrow part of the seat. I thought it would create more comfort. I put it on that night and went riding. Not only was it more comfortable, but there was a bounce to it, so when you went over rocky trails, it didn't hurt to hit the seat on the way down! I'm a satisfied customer! :)

Excellent Rack
I purchased this rack about 4 months ago. It arrived earlier than expected and it good condition. All of the parts necessary for installation were included. There were also a couple of extra screws as spares.I installed it on a TREK 4300. While I don't have disk brakes on the bike, it does have the brackets pre-installed to accept them, so I decided to get the DX type rack so that I could install the discs later. The installation took less than 10 minutes and went flawlessly. The rack has a nice semi-gloss black finish but the brackets that attach it to the seat tube are silver, so I decided to paint them black as well using a satin black epoxy spray paint that matched perfectly. The rack is very light weight but is also very sturdy. I haven't gotten a bag for it yet, but Topeak makes bags that will slide into the rack and then lock into place.I would highly recommend this rack to anyone that has a frame predrilled to accept this sort of accessory.
So far so good
I've had this rack for about a couple of months now. It's been a pretty happy experience so far. The rack I received was a bit off center, but nothing a bit of tweaking couldn't fix. After about a hundred or so miles, the black finish has rubbed off in a few locations due to some metal hardware on my bag. If plastic were to rub on the finish, I'm sure the same would happen but over a longer period of time. I hear this is the norm for Topeak racks. But seriously, who cares... I haven't loaded the rack down with panniers, but I do appreciate that there is a separate bar just for them. Some rack trunks can get pretty wide and cover up the top bars. The rack came with two plastic rear light holders. One is designed to accept lights that use clips. The other a fairly wide bracket that I'm assuming is designed to hold a euro style light. I used the clip mount for a twenty five mile ride, but it just made me nervous. So, I picked up a stainless bolt about two inches...
Good bicycle rack for commuting
This is the second one of these racks I have owned. They have proven to be sturdy and durable in daily bicycle commuting use. I like the side hanger rails which allow me to comfortably mount my computer case pannier (an Arkel pannier) on the side and a Topeak MTX DX trunk bag on the top. I recommend this rack for cyclists that need a heavy-duty rack.

I have a Cross bike (Genesis Montana, for men), question is what kind of accessories are handy on a tour?

May 12, 2009 by Christof | Posted in Cycling

Tour is ca. 330 km long, not offroad, and we are a group of three. Its gonna be a (hard ;D) 3 day tour.

most invaluable accessory for me when i was doing 200 a day was a good cycling cap, keeps the sun and wind out of yours eyes, and a travel towel to wipe away sweat.
and a 2 tarps, you don't need a tend, tarps are better and much lighter than tents.

Is leopard print ever appropriate for men's clothing and accessories?

Asking for the guy outside my office with the leopard print bicycle seat on his bike.

its not appropriate for women to wear either, unless you're a call girl or stripper, it looks stupid

..and even then

for men its ok if you are any of these, its not appropriate but we take into consideration your life style
